The clients of Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) will now be attended effectively and free of charge after the launching of free toll phone services.
The service which currently caters for Vodacom, Sasatel, TTCL Mobile and TTCL landline subscribers, will enable clients and the general public to call free of charge via 0800 110 827 for 24 hours.
Speaking during the launching of the service at TBS Headquarters, TBS Director General, Mr. Charles Ekelege said the move will enable TBS to communicate with consumers wherever they are, at any time.
Mr. Ekelege urged all consumers to cooperate with TBS in ensuring that all substandard products are removed from the Tanzanian market.
“After receiving your information, TBS will take action immediately and I assure you that we will keep the information and the caller confidential to avoid any inconveniences on the part of our clients,” assured Mr. Ekelege.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ekelege granted standards mark licences to 23 manufacturers whose products were attested to conform to various Tanzania standards, while one manufacturer was granted a tested product certificate.
Mr. Ekelege said the “tbs” mark of quality will enable them to compete at national and international level and urged them to make sure that they keep producing as per standards.
