In order to ensure that Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA)’s assessment process in TANCIS is not affected by Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS)’s process of uploading permits/certificates of quality for imported goods, clearing & forwarding agents on behalf of importers of goods are hereby required to abide by the following:
1. To upload genuine Certificate of Conformity (CoC) of the respective consignment in TANCIS. This CoC should be uploaded immediately after receiving it from one of the Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC) service providers, i.e. Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS), China Certification & Inspection Group Co. Ltd (CCIC) or Bureau Veritas (BV).
2. To fill in Request of Destination Inspection form for the consignments under Destination Inspection (DI). This request form is available on TBS website (http://www.tbs.go.tz). The clearing and forwarding agents will be required to upload a dully filled form in TANCIS as attachment for assessment purposes. The CFA will no longer be required to write application letter for DI as it used to be.
3. After having TRA assessment report, all other verification procedures will be done as per current practice at Diplomat House located at the junction of Mkwepu and Kaluta streets in Dar es Salaam. The implementation of this notice will start on Monday, 2016-11-28.
NOTE: Any clearing and forwarding agents who will contravene this instruction by uploading false documents will be punished as per governing laws.
