Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS)

Tanzania Bureau of Standards is a sole National Standards Body established under the Ministry of Industry and Trade by the Standards Act Cap. 130 The Bureau is mandated to promote standardization in industry and commerce through standards development, safety and quality assurance, metrology and testing services for sustainable socioeconomic development. Pursuant to Section 4 (1) (h) of the Standards Act (Cap. 130), the Bureau is mandated to encourage or undertake educational work in connection with standardization, quality assurance, metrology, testing and environment; also Section 4 (1) (q) mandates the Bureau to co-operate with regional and international organizations in all matters related to standardization and quality assurance and represent the country in such matters.For more detail open the following attachments:
