Our Metrology Laboratories include:

1. Mass and Volume Laboratory

The Mass and volume is a specialised metrology laboratory offering a high-accuracy measurement traceability to the wide range of manufacturing industries, hospitals, laboratories, and other sectors using state of the art equipment. The laboratory is accredited by SADCAS under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 which gives confidence in ensuring reliability of measurement and calibration services for mass and volume measuring instruments and standards. With this confidence the laboratory ensures that the measurements are accurate, traceable, and fit for purpose.

2. Temperature and Humidity Laboratory

The Temperature and Humidity Metrology laboratory is a specialized national laboratory responsible for calibration and measurement services for temperature and humidity related instruments and equipment to supporting industries, laboratories, hospitals, research institutions, and other users. The laboratory maintains and disseminates measurement traceability through calibration of reference standards and measuring instruments, to ensure accuracy and reliability. The laboratory is accredited by Southern Africans Development Community Accreditation Services (SADCAS) according to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

3. Pressure and Force Laboratory:

The Pressure and Force Laboratory is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory by the Southern African Development Community Accreditation Service (SADCAS), providing professional calibration services for pressure and force measuring instruments used in industrial, testing, and other technical applications. The Laboratory ensures accurate, reliable, and traceable measurement results through the use of appropriate reference standards, competent personnel, and internationally recognized calibration methods and practices, supporting organizations in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of their measurement equipment. 

4. Electrical, and Time & Frequency Laboratory

Electrical, Time and Frequency Laboratory is a specialized national laboratory responsible for development, maintenance and dissemination of national measurement standards for Electrical, Time and Frequency.

The Laboratory implements and is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by SADCAS in time interval and rotation speed measurements giving confidence and trust to its calibration and traceability services.

5. Dimension Laboratory:

Provides dimensional measurement and calibration services to ensure accuracy of length, height, depth, thickness, width and angle measuring instruments.

6. Metrology in Chemistry and Biology Laboratory:

 Chemical metrology offers calibration of specialized equipment used in food, agriculture, environmental, health and safety to ensure accurate, reliable and traceable measurements.
