The Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) in the Eastern region has urged entrepreneurs, traders, producers, and consumers to utilize the quality mark provided by the organization to ensure that they produce and use safe and quality products. This emphasis on quality is crucial for safeguarding consumer health and enhancing the overall market standards.

Francis Mapunda, the Acting Manager of TBS in the Eastern zone, highlighted the importance of this initiative during the Farmers' Exhibition held at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Grounds in Morogoro. Mapunda stressed that the quality mark serves as a reliable indicator of product safety and standards, which is essential in building consumer trust and promoting fair trade practices.

At the exhibition, Mapunda invited producers, sellers, distributors, and consumers to visit the TBS pavilion. The pavilion offers a range of informative sessions designed to educate stakeholders on how to properly certify and register their products with TBS which is critical for ensuring that products meet established quality standards before they reach the market.

In addition to that, the TBS pavilion provides valuable insights into the standards required for various types of products. This includes detailed information on compliance with safety regulations, quality assurance processes, and the importance of using products which have been authorized by the Bureau.

Mapunda also emphasized that the exhibition serves as a vital platform for TBS to engage with a broad audience of stakeholders. It allows the organization to connect directly with entrepreneurs and industry professionals, offering them tailored education on standards-related issues. This proactive approach helps address common challenges faced by producers and distributors and fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the industry.

Mr. Juma Abdallah a visitor to the TBS pavilion expressed his appreciation for the comprehensive education he received. He noted that the information provided would be instrumental in refining his entrepreneurial practices and ensuring that his products meet standards. Many attendees remarked that the guidance from TBS would not only help them enhance their business operations but also contribute positively to the national economy by promoting standards, quality and safety.

Overall, the engagement between TBS and the exhibition attendees highlights the Bureau’s commitment to improving industry standards and supporting economic growth. By equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and tools needed to achieve compliance, TBS plays a crucial role in fostering a safer, more reliable marketplace for all.
